coral cactus

My coral cactus was doing very well. The past few days I noticed one side feels a little rubbery compared to the rest of the plant. The rest feels firm and prickly. What is happening?
Thank you

It sounds very much like root rot.
Over watering is the most likely reason.
The soil should dry out between watering.
