Copperleaf Plants – Diseased?

My copperleaf plants have white masses clinging to the stems and leaves. Is this a disease, and if so, how do I treat it? The white masses look like ‘white mold. ‘

Is this white substance cottony looking or powdery in nature? If cottony, it could be the result of scale pests, which may be seen moving within the white cottony areas. If powdery, you have a case of powdery mildew on your
