control and eradicate leaf hopper insect

Question

I live in Port Macquarie and have a mature Fiddlewood tree that is extremely infested with leaf hoppers and I would love to be able to eradicate them. The poor tree looks as though it is deciduous and dropping a lot of leaves, and also leaving honeydew over the lawn. Help.
