Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have grown my first Crimson Sweet watermellon and I am SOO confused as to knowing when its ripe. I see soo many various answers around. I been tokd if the TENDRILS are dead its good to pick but others say the vine that attaches to mellon MUST be dried out too… please which is it. as mine makes deep thump sound AND TENDRIL IS DRIED UP. I added pic. thank you

A good indicator that your melons are getting ready to harvest will be that the tendril that is connecting it to the vine will start to change from a living green color, to a dying brown color. This is when you will be keeping a close eye on them. Here is an article that will help:
