Q.Concerned About My Palo Verda Tree’s Health
Hello. I live in Encino, CaliforniaI. I have a beautiful Palo Verda tree in the center of my front yard, that I planted when I purchased my home five and a half years ago. It was then about seven feet tall. Today it’s around 40 feet tall and 32” in diameter at the base. I love it. It gives off a unbelievable amounts of beautiful yellow flowers that the bees and hummingbirds love. (see Photo) Unfortunately, For a couple of years now It’s been bleeding sap in several locations at its base going up to about six feet. (Photos attached) I’m very concerned about its future. I’ve asked my local nursery expert. And at their advise I sprayed for worms also applied systemic Bayer Tree & Scrub Protect & feed and Bayer Complete Insect killer. Plus numerous organic products. All with little to no results. What would you advise? Thank you, Sam

I would continue the systemic, according to the instructions. This will be your best defense against borers that are already inside the tree.
