compost tea

I am making compost tea with an air pump and 5 gallon bucket. I recently read that you could produce e-coli in compost tea. I use a commercial compost, called harvest superpowered organic nutri-fibre compost with bio char. On the label it says that their compost has been pasteurized. If the compost has been pasteurized, is there any chance of producing e-coli?

Most composts sold in nurseries are heated sufficiently to kill any harmful bacteria, including E. Coli, making these products safe for use in gardens. That said, if you would feel more at ease making your own compost, this is an option too. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/composting/basics/composting-basics.htm [1]
