Are green beans and tomatoes a no no as far as companion plants?

Actually, this seems to be a highly debated topic, as some people believe it’s not a good idea to plant them together and others feel it is. For the most part, tomatoes do well next to beans since they are nitrogen-fixing plants, which is an important nutrient for the tomatoes. However, too much nitrogen can result in lots of foliage and little to no tomato production. I think if you don’t go overboard with the beans and compensate for the extra nitrogen by adding some phosphorus to the soil, it should be okay to plant them together, or near one another. Again, this is up to you.
