Comfrey plants

I would like to know what causes comfrey plants to die. My plant started to dry out and when I checked beneath the soil level, I saw white spots around the plant. Will the plant regrow again? I look forward to your response and thank you.

Your plant may still have enough root system to survive.

Treat the plant and surrounding area of soil with Neem Oil. Neem Oil works as both an insecticide and fungicide.
