The best way will be to move them to a warmer location indoors, but if this is not possible, then you will want to cover plants with burlap only on the colder nights, and when the temperature is too cold for the plants.
Protection depends on the type of plant and if it is hardy in your area. Some plants will need no protection unless it is outside your zone. If it is too far outside of your area, then the only option will be to move it indoors, or force dormancy.
