Q.Climbers For Clay Soil

I have a south facing garden with clay soil. Towards the bottom of the garden I want to put a arch, it will get the sun till mid afternoon when it will be shaded by a large summerhouse , I want something that will cover a arch really quick have flowers and not die in the winter ? I’m in the uk

The clay soil will put a damper on most plants. Amending the soil with compost, and tilling it in prior to planting will increase the likelihood that the vine of your choice will survive, happily.

The best course of action will be to plant something that will be an evergreen for the equivalent of our USDA zone 8. Here is an article that will make some suggestions:
