Clematis Plants

Q.Clematis montana

I planted this last year and now January looked dead so I pruned it but there is green inside.i am thinking I pruned too much .is there a chance it will survive.

Clematis require a yearly dormancy. You can prune them back pretty hard, but I would only prune one third of the plant each time. I believe your plant will come back just fine.
