clematis

My 4-yr. old clematis only continues to produce buds that turn into more vines. It has not yet produced one bloom–lavender/yellow cntr.–usually full. Should I prune it back? Too late for a bigger container–it may be root-bound at this point? Please help!!

After 4yrs it could be very root bound, up potting is probably a good idea and you’ll want to do that while it’s not blooming. This article may help you to get blooms
