Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe just purchased a home and there is a horse chestnut tree in our front yard. We have been trying to clean up all the mess this tree drops. We want to plant under this tree but I don’t want the nuts falling in a bed. What is the easiest way to deal with this? Should we bring in soil to cover the exposed roots and just plant grass?

While there is no real definitive answer here, I would go along with your suggestion (bringing in soil and planting with grass). There is no way to prevent the tree from dropping nuts and unless you want to spend all your time cleaning up your bed, it would probably be just as easy to rake the area clean whenever needed.
