Citrus

I currently have a Pink Lemonade lemon tree in full bloom here in Gainesville, FL, in my greenhouse. I want to plant in my newly acquired yard. Should I do this while it’s in bloom? Same question about my grapefruit tree. They are about 4-5 yrs old. Also, same situation with my blueberry plant.

If my citrus trees are in my greenhouse full of blooms, how can I pollinate the blooms? Oh, maybe move out of greenhouse, then will insects do it for me? I just want to plant these in the ground, but if I need to leave in pot until after fruiting, I should remove from greenhouse for Fl sunshine!!! True or False. Yes help needed here. Lol. Thanks.

Thanks and God bless… Jan

Citrus are actually best planted in the active growing season.
It is best to plant in the early morning hours, when temperatures are cooler.
Keep the roots out of the sun as much as possible.
Water throughly after proper planting.
Stake the tree is necessary.
You may want to pinch off the fruit and blossoms the first year to promote good root and branch development.
Watering is crucial to citrus trees!
Do not allow the roots to dry out! Deep waterings are better then shallow.

You may want to leave the Blueberries in the pots until fall. It’s best to plant them when they are dormant. Late fall or winter in your zone.
