Citrus Tree Are Yellowing And Losing Leaves

i have 2 myers lemon trees that have yellowing leaves, can i fertilize them now in January or is there another problem

This can happen for a few reasons, from underfertilization to cool weather! I would test the soil for pH issues, or fertilization problems before feeding, unless it has been several months since the last one. They are a little on the heavy side when it comes to feeding.
