Q.Christmas Tree Not Taking Water
Hello, I read your article about this and have a follow on question. We purchased our tree one afternoon and kept it in the garage until the next day before sitting it up in the tree stand. We did not make an additional slice on the bottom of the trunk as your article recommends. The tree is now up and fully decorated in our living room. It is not taking on water. Is there anything we can do at this point? We so appreciate any advice. Best regards

It may take a few days before it starts to take up water if the tree is still cold, for example. If a week has gone by, you can drill holes in the trunk beneath the water level. If the tree becomes dry and brittle, it is time to take it down.
