Christmas Cactus Rooted in Water

I rooted a leaf from a Christmas Cactus in water; then I planted it in a pot several months ago. The leaf seems to be thriving, but the new plant (leaf) has not grown at all. It shows no signs of any new growth. Can you tell me what is wrong?

While they may develop some rooting in water, this is normnally not the best way to go about propagating these plants, as it can introduce root rot. Instead, Christmas cactus are beest rooted in soil.
