Christmas Cactus Budding and Blooming

Large Christmas cactus which has been left outside on covered porch until now has many buds that appear to be ready to pop open any day. I would like to hold off the blooming until closer to Christmas. . . mid-December. Any advice on keeping buds from blooming right away?

christmas catius bloom because of time change if we dont let them know its getting dark sooner then they wont bloom. a porch light may slow this prosess of flowering
