Christmas Cactus Plants

Christmas Cactus

Zone Piedmont, AL 36272 | Anonymous added on June 16, 2017 | Answered

My 50+ year old plant blooms twice every year. It has really grown the last few years. The stems or branches have gotten really thick. Looks like small tree bushes. should I cut off some of the green "cactus leaves" and repot? What should I do with these huge roots and branches? I am a naive gardener. This plant was my grandmother's and my mother's. I really don't want to hurt it but these huge stems take away from the beauty. Thanks.
