christmas cactus

The leaves on the plant have white marks or scaring similar to scratches. What is it and how can I treat it if it is an insect?

I believe you are describing something know as corking.
It is the result of rapid growth and can even be effected by sunlight.
This will not effect your Christmas Cactus.
