Christmas Cactus

I have been reading through your blog on Christmas cactus issues and am hoping you can help. Mine finally bloomed for the 1st time in 13 years but for the past few months part of the plant has turned purple and looks like it’s wilting. None of the leaves have fallen off so I’m not sure what is causing the issue as it’s only part of the plant. The other part is green and continues to get new leaves. The base of the stem looks very dry. Is this part dying? What is your suggestion?

How wonderful that your plant has bloomed.

There can be a few reasons for the color change to your Christmas Cactus, from some nutrition problems, lighting, and perhaps the plant is root bound.

All our easy fixes and the combination of changing the above can be done applied quite easily.
