Did I over-water or under-water my Christmas Cactus

How do I know if I have over watered the plant or under watered it? The plant is looking bad and some stalks have fallen off.

The best way to know is to by touch. Feel the soil – is it dry to the touch, lightly moist or very damp? If the soil is really damp, then you have probably overwatered your cactus. For information on how to save an overwatered christmas cactus, please visit the following link:

Likewise, if the soil is dry, then your christmas cactus needs water. Begin by giving the plant a limited drink. Continue to water sparingly every few days until the soil is lightly moist.
