chipmunks eating hibiscus bulbs

Question

I have tried traps (worked twice, then chipmunks learned how to take food out of trap without making it spring closed), Tabasco sauce in their hole, flooding their hole, spraying the area including the whole hibiscus leaf and bud with product that promises to repel them. None of this has worked.
Help!

I feel your frustration, as I also have some chipmunks stealing from my garden this year!
