Chipmunks

If using mothballs to keep chipmunks out of your garden, how far apart should they be placed? If the mothballs dissolve and get into the garden, will it hurt the vegetable plants?

Because of the health concerns with moth balls, I would not recommend using them around vegetables. The mothballs will not harm the plants, but could cause health concerns for people if the chemicals get on the vegetables.

Instead, you may want to use garlic or chili pepper spray to keep the chipmunks from damaging your food.
