Q.Chestnut Tree Pods

hi, what are these pods on my chestnut trees? is it the making of chestnuts? and does it mean they will produce this fall? trees are approx 4yrs old and this is the first year i’ve seen them, thanks

Those are the chestnut's pollen producing catkins. The female flowers are less showy. If pollinated, chestnuts should form later this year. Here is more:
