Cherry Tree

Have a 30 foot cherry tree that lost all blooms this year, no cherries. Foliage inside tree has thinned and 5 hunks of sap on outside of one inner trunk. Is this tree dying of old age? I bought the house three yrs. ago.

Yes, it is very possible that this is a tree that is dying of old age. As a last ditch effort, you can treat the tree with both a fungicide and a pesticide. This will take care of a significant portion of the treatable issues that may also be affecting it. I personally like neem oil as it is organic and systemic, which means that is safe for people and pets and is absorbed by the tree so that it even gets into areas that you may not be able to directly spray.
