Q.Change of Color in Photinia Leaves

Anonymous added on April 1, 2014 | Answered

Our plants are about 2 years old. They are well ventilated. The red tips are turning to a pink color and I’m not sure if this is a problem or not. They are watered from a drip line only and I pruned as directed. Can you offer any help?

Paling of the leaf color might be caused by nutrient deficiency. This article has some pointers: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/photinia/red-tip-photinia-fertilizer.htm
