My large cedar tree has lots of small clusters of baby cones, is that normal? I’ve never seen so many on the tree.

It has been a stressful year in many parts of the country for all kinds of plants with the heat and the dry weather. Many trees when faced with stress will over produce seeds. It is a way for the tree to guarantee that if it is unable to survive the stress it faces, it will have a greater chance of having a successful offspring.
