Q.Carrots
What would be the reason that my carrot tops grew great but not a single carrot formed. Just white stringy roots like I pulled a weed! I waited the full 70 days the seed packet said to harvest. (This is my 1st veggie garden ever!) Thanks!
There can be a few reasons for this issue, including too much nitrogen in the soil or over fertilizing.
Too much nitrogen will cause lush greens and little or no vegetables to form.
You can have a soil test done to identify how to correct the soil.
Adding phosphorous will help.
Your local County Extension Office can help you with a soil test.
Here are some links for you including how to locate your closest extension office.
