Q.Carpet Of Asiatic Jamine Below A Large Oak Tree Is Being Invaded By A Vine With Red Stems. What To Do?
Had this carpet of asiatic jasmine for over 17 years. This year is a vine that looks somewhat like a maple leaf with a red stem that is even going outside the area looking for other plants to climb on. This never happened before.

The best way to be sure that you are killing it without harming your other plants will be to pull it, ensuring that you get as much of the roots as you can. Then, pull up any new instances as they occur.
Another way to remove it is to pour boiling water on it. It will kill anything on contact, without making the soil toxic. This will allow your Asiatic Jasmine to take back over without harming the soil.
