Q.Carnation Chaubaud

Carnation Chaubaud Question? Planted it from seed in the summer and now its about a foot and half tall it never flowered and now it is looking tall and weak the stems. Question should I cut it back for the winter so it can flower next year or what advice would you have.

If it is hardy in your area, go ahead and cut it back. If it won't survive your winter, dig it up and plant it in a container and overwinter it in the garage or someplace that will not freeze. I looked up your weather, and the source showed it rarely freezes so it should return next year and flower. Here is more:
