Caring for yucca plant growing out of tree stump?

I recently found a beautiful yucca plant growing out of a tree stump, and took it inside to care for it.
The strange thing about this plant is that it isn’t growing in soil- the plant itself protrudes out of a tree stump- so in order to water it I’ve been taking it outside and then bringing it back in. I’ve had it for about 3 months now, and it isn’t doing well. Its leaves are slowly turning yellow and brown, especially on the bottom but there are also yellow spots on top. How would you suggest to care for a plant like this? Does watering it even help if there isn’t any soil?

As it is growing, there are no nutrients, and further, no roots to take up nutrients. It will slowly die, unless you replant those offshoots and force them to root. This is slightly different than rooting many other plants.
