Why are the leaves getting smaller and sometimes turning yellow?

It would help to know exactly what plant this is to be able to help you. Leaf yellowing can be caused by a number of things depending on the plant. These include: nitrogen deficiency, over-watering, under-watering, too much sun, too little sun... There are just many factors that contribute to this problem. Most of the time this varies from plant to plant. Any pictures you can post, or any more description you can give will help me to help you better.
