caring for a mature dogwood tree

I am trying to keep it alive. My tree is 37 years old planted in direct morning and early afternoon sun. In previous years, it has been covered in flowers and leaves. This year (April) it has ample leaves but very few flowers.

I fear this a downhill sign. I have been fertilizing in spring and fall using a fertilizer suggested by a local shop. What should I do to lengthen its life with full flowering? I am in Marietta, Ga., north of Atlanta.

A healthy Dogwood tree can live 80 years. Less blossoms could be an effect of weather conditions.
Make sure your tree is receiving enough water.
