Q.Care of Peach Tree

Anonymous added on January 13, 2014 | Answered

When is the appropriate time of year to cut back the branches of a peach tree? The tree is about 2 years old and produced quite a few peaches last year, but they were small. The branches are long and lanky, too weak for nice to large peaches this season.

This article will help you with pruning your peaches: http://wilkes.ces.ncsu.edu/files/library/97/How%20to%20Prune%20Peach%20Trees-4.pdf It sounds like your tree would also benefit from thinning. This article will explain more about that: http://www.ent.uga.edu/peach/peachhbk/cultural/thinning.pdf
