Q.Care of Lime Tree

Anonymous added on September 5, 2011 | Answered

The tips of the leaves of my dwarf lime tree have turned brown. The tree is on south side of house with plenty of sun and proper watering. Does it need fertilizer? Bought tree in April, and I live in Tucson, AZ.

Brown tips typically indicate that the plant is getting too little water. Even with regular watering, as hot as it's been, especially in your area, the tree needs deep watering to prevent evaporation from occuring. The heat can quickly dry out the soil, compacting it and restricting roots from getting the water they need.
