care of kiwi plants

I have inherited two female and one male kiwi plant. They are almost thirty years old. How far back can I cut them without hurting them?

Pruning established vines is a bit different then if you prune as you go along with new plantings.
Cut out all the winders, anything attached to the trellis, cut to an inch from the branch they are attached to.
Cut out all the cross branches, cut these all the way back to within 1 inch of the main branch.
Look for any suckers, that grow straight up, these will never bear fruit and should be removed.
Pick the main stem and allow it to be about 6 to 7 feet tall. It is usually what is attached to the trellis. Cut back any branches that are attached to this main branch.
Allow 2 lateral branches at the top of this main branch–just above the 6 to 7 foot tall stem. Cut these to 3 buds and remove any other laterals.
I would do all of this pruning when the vine has gone dormant.
