Care of Hibiscus Indooors

My grandaughter bought me a hibiscus at Lowes for my birthday in Kansas, and I need to know how to care for it. How much light? Northeast, south, or west window? And how often do I water it? It’s already getting yellow leaves on it and I have had it a week. I don’t want to kill it. It’s special since it came from her. Thanks.
