care of gladiola corms

I harvested my glad corms a couple weeks ago — let air dry for 4 days before removing (still green) (before frost} stems. I cut stems off corms about 4 inches above corm tops. I am concerned in spring when it comes time to prepare them to plant that in removing this long stem I will “break” off any sprouts that may start to develop. Should this be removed down to top of corm this fall at time of storage?

Yes, you can go ahead and remove the stem now.
