care for Ruellia plant in winter

I bought Ruellia plants in South Carolina and planted them in my garden in New Jersey, they are thriving. Now I want to make sure I take care of them for the winter so should I cut them back and cover them or wrap them ….what??? please help don’t want to loose them.

You can cut them back and they will grow back.
