Canned Fish For Fertilizer?

Is canned fish really good for garden fertilizer? Does it attract bears?

Fish waste should be composted before using. And yes, it will attract bears and other wildlife if not composted in a closed container. If you live in bear country, it is recommended not to compost fish waste at all.
