Canna Lilies

1. When I pull off the Canna flower head after blooming, it leaves a pod. Does the pod/s need to be removed also?

2. The stems have lots of pods on them, some browner than others. Do I leave these pods or cut/pull them off? They are unsightly.

These plants are 3 years old and not blooming well this year. Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can remove these pods.
