Can you plant fuchsia plants in the ground and how to stand the stems upward?

Unless you live in a very warm climate, you'll have to bring them indoors for winter, though some hardy fuchsia varieties are available. In addition, the stems cannot be forced upward, as their normal growing characteristic is somewhat trailing, which is why these are common plants for hanging baskets.
