Q.Can you plant canna lilies after the 1st of July
My friend just moved here and would like to plant cannas in the yard. Would they grow enough to flower this summer or should she wait til next year?

You could try to plant yet this year. Depending on the variety and the temperatures they could sprout in a week or it couple be a few weeks.
They most likely would have time to flower this year.
