Can you identify if this plant is a weed or late summer bloomer?

I moved into a home that had an avid gardener as a previous homeowner. I am hesitant to weed out several plants because I fear they are unique and not weeds. These plants are clustered in an area in semi shade. They are next to a columbine plant. Is it a late summer bloomer or fall?

I’m not able to identify the plant. The leaf structure is not enough for an id.
You can take image or sample to your County Extension Office for an id.
