Q.Can You Eat The Apricots That Have Ripe Fruit Rot?
My son has a very old apricot tree, they bought the property last year and the apricots were great. This year they look good except for the brown spots all over all of them. Are they still edible?

If the spots cover most of the fruit, I wouldn't eat it. If you find some fruit that isn't affected yet, they should be OK to eat. It is best to be safe rather than sorry. You don't know what kind of pathogen could be on the fruit that could cause illness.
