Q.Can You Compost Blue And Purple Cardboard? (They Are Dividers For Apples And Avocados In My Area.)
I have been composting the salad scraps from the school cafeteria along with shredded cardboard egg cartons and similar textured dividers. As I have been reading about composting I recently read that you should not compost colored carboard. I have been composting these for about six months, and I want to be sure that my compost is not contaminated by the darker colored cardboard.

If it is coated cardboard, as is often the case when shipping raw food items, it is best not to compost. You can see if your recycler handles it.
