Hello, My question is that can we use balanced NPK like 18 18 18, 19 19 19, 20 20 20 along with single Super Phosphate in the new plants of roses. ? Recently I repoted the new grafted rose plants in cinder media. And at this stage i want to get growth of root part of the plant. For my purpose i can use NPK 12:61:00 but its not available at my native place so i want to use Balanced NPK with SSP for root growth.

A balanced NPK would be sufficient for the first feeding. You don't want to overdo fertilizer. Plus, the super phosphate (middle number of NPK) is phosphorus, which is for flower development. The third number, potassium, aids in root development.

In the second article below, the author uses super phosphate in the first or last feeding.
