Can These Very Leggy Scented Geraniums Be Pruned Back For Winter?

Hello! I am overwintering multiple scented geraniums in my basement under plant lights. Over the summer they have become very leggy and all the growth on most plants is at the top. Is it safe to prune these? If so, how do I do that? I tried to keep them bushy over the summer but apparently not enough! (photos attached).
Thanks!

Yes, you can cut those back. And root the cuttings for more plants! I wouldn't take off more than a third of the plant at one time. And try to leave a couple leaves on each stem. After it starts filling in you can always trim again later. I've attached an article with more information.
