Q.Can the plant do well in a large container?

Zone Probably 8 or 9 Las vegas, NV | bc2trtutr added on July 31, 2015 | Answered

The plant is in a large container in an area of lots of sun but some shade and the plant does well for a while but always gets a section of dry leaves with some green at point of attachment to the stem. What would cause this?

I'm not sure of the type of plant your referring to.

That said, watering can be the biggest issue with container plants.

Daily watering is needed in the summer months and when temperatures are above 85 degrees, twice daily water.
Make sure it's planted in good quality, well draining soil.

Do you have the correct light conditions for your plant?
